“The beauty in tea is it will never be the same. It will always reflect the dynamics in nature and the human element of processing.”

Brought to you by

the Tea Maker

This month on Thought for Food, journey into the world of tea with Joshua Kaiser, CEO of Rishi Tea. He’ll discuss his expeditions through Asia to discover new teas and meet the farmers that grow them.

He’ll demonstrate his cupping techniques, used to judge the quality, flavor, and color of a tea. Joshua will also explain how he judges the quality of tea by testing its patience, a process that requires tea to be brewed multiple times with the same tea leaves.

We’ll also go into the kitchen with renowned Chef and tea sommelier Cynthia Gold, co-author of Culinary Tea. She’ll show us how to make a wonderful Sangria with Jasmine tea.
